Neurophysiology (EEG lab)

Electroencephalography (EEG) is the recording of electrical activity along the scalp produced by the firing of neurons (brain cells) within the brain. In the clinical contexts, the EEG refers to the recording of the brain's spontaneous electrical activity over a short period of time, usually 20-40 minutes, as recorded from multiple electrodes placed on the scalp. In CPNI, the main diagnostic application of EEG is in the diagnosis and management of the Epilepsies, as epileptic activity can create clear abnormalities on an EEG record. EEG of course may be used in a range of other disorders that affect the brain and our specialists will assist you in whether this test is helpful in your child’s condition.We routinely perform video electroencephalograms (V- EEG) by an experienced specialist technologist in a child friendly environment in our EEG laboratory, which is equipped with the most advanced digital equipment.  These examinations are performed and interpreted by specialists who are trained in Neurophysiology and Board-Certified/Registered in Electroencephalography. We make every effort to create a safe and comfortable environment for your child during any given testing session.

Our laboratory is located on the premises of CPNI, alongside our clinical offices.  The lab is equipped with modern digital/video equipment and offers routine, out-patient pediatric electroencephalograms (EEG) that meet the gold-standard set by international neurophysiology committees.  Each EEG is performed by Board-Registered (EEG) personnel in a child-friendly and comfortable environment.  The results are reviewed and interpreted by specialists trained in Neurophysiology & Electroencephalography. We make every possible effort to schedule each EEG as soon as deemed medically necessary

    CPNI welcomes EEG Neurofeedback!

    What is EEG Neurofeedback;

    Neurofeedback is a new form of treatment which provides information to children and adults about their brain activity. Trainees are being rewarded positively or negatively depending on their performance to the several activities they are asked to participate. This way they learn how to control their mental status.
